Julie Ronnoc
At 41, I have officially reached the perfect age for writing romance: old enough to know that communication is everything, young enough to still believe a surprise kiss in the rain is an excellent life choice.
When not creating chemistry between fictional characters, I can usually be found drinking too much caffeine, overanalyzing text messages, and insisting that every story needs at least one emotionally unavailable or damaged person who eventually learns to talk about their feelings. A lifelong lover of happily-ever-afters, I write warm, witty romances filled with sharp banter, tender moments, and characters who are messy, hopeful, and gloriously human.
My stories celebrate second chances, unexpected connections, and the powerful belief that love can show up anywhere—especially when you’re wearing pajamas and have absolutely no plans to leave the house.
Based in Vero Beach, Florida, I live with my husband and two young daughters. Outside of writing, they enjoy crafting, collecting fictional crushes, and pretending I’ll only read one more chapter.
With a heart full of optimism and a phone full of plot ideas, I am always working on the next story guaranteed to make readers laugh, swoon, and possibly question their standards in real-life dating.
Author Q & A
-
I began writing professionally in 2025, with my first book published later that same year.
-
I got started when I had to leave my insurance advocate job due to burnout and health concerns.
After that, I turned to writing because I have a lot of stories I’d like to tell.
I had to do a lot of my own research with even more trial and error to get things right.
If you are thinking about becoming an author, you can do it too!
-
My published books are available on the Amazon Kindle Store and in the Ria Rina Books bookstore.
Don’t see it on Amazon?
Make sure the drop down menu next to the search bar says “Kindle Store.”

I get my ideas from all kinds of sources. Including a different take on a short story I may have heard or read (Crash) and even a dream I had once (The Catalyst).
I also read a lot of novels, and I am inspired my many authors. If you have not read their books, you need to!
My favorite authors include:
Lily Mayne, author of the Monstrous series and Berries and Greed.
Dianne Duvall, author of the Immortal Guardians series and The Aldebarian Alliance series.
Stacy Jones, author of the Chosen series.
Charlene Hartnady, author of The Bride Hunt series and many more.
Chandelle LaVaun, author of the Academy Magic series and many more.
L Eveland, author of the Monsters in my Bed series.

To date I have fifteen completed manuscripts with more to come!
-
Not yet, but I hope to in the future.
-
On average, it takes about three to six months to complete a manuscript, plus editing and publishing, but it can take even longer if I’m trying to work out a tricky plot.
-
Yes and no. While I mostly write during regular schedule hours, sometimes an idea will hit me in the middle of the night, and I have to pull my laptop out and write it down!
-
Everyone’s process is different. I would consider my process unusual, but it works well for me!
1) Get an idea!
Sometimes this is the hardest part.
2) Evil plotting (aka brainstorming)
What genre/subgenre will it be? What is/are the plot(s)/subplot(s)? What tropes will I use? Who are the main characters? Etc.
3) Write the script! (aka outline)
Write a rough outline of the story containing major events and plot points.
4) Ready, set, visualize!
I like to think of it like a movie playing out in my head and add a soundtrack (playlist) for all major events and plot points in the story. Does it make sense? Is it a good story? Does it flow? What does character A do when XYZ happens?
5) WORD VOMIT (aka freewriting)
Pick a plot point, a character arc, or a scene and everything I think goes on paper. It’s random, some of it doesn’t make sense, it’s sticky, it’s everywhere, even on the ceiling, and it smells like Red bull.
6) Make it make sense! (Revisions)
Fix major plot holes, make it flow, heavy editing and cutting.
7) Make it work! (More revisions!)
Fix story issues, lock down character appearances and personality. Fix point of view and tense issues. Heavy editing and tweaking.
8) Make it pretty! (Even more revisions!)
Fix remaining issues, fix major grammar or sentence structure mistakes. Fix small details. Light editing and tweaking. Send to Beta readers.
9) Send it to college (aka copyediting and proofreading)
Have a professional grade my paper and fix my small mistakes.
10) Get it ready for the ball (aka formatting)
Get it book ready and fix formatting issues. Polish it. Send it to ARC readers.
11) Be free! (aka publish!)
