I began writing professionally in 2025, with my first book published later that same year.
-
I got started when I had to leave my insurance advocate job due to burnout and health concerns.
After that, I turned to writing because I have a lot of stories I’d like to tell.
I am an independent author working with an independent publisher. I had to do a lot of my own research with even more trial and error to get things right. If you are thinking about becoming an author, you can do it too!
-
My published books are available on the Amazon Kindle Store.
Don’t see it?
Make sure the drop down menu next to the search bar says “Kindle Store.”
-
Yes — all titles are available in paperback and e-book formats on the Amazon Kindle Store.
-
I get my ideas from all kinds of sources. Including a different take on a short story I may have heard or read and even a dream I had once.
I also read a lot of novels, and I am inspired my many authors. If you have not read their books, you need to!
My favorite authors include:
Lily Mayne, author of the Monstrous series and Berries and Greed.
Dianne Duvall, author of the Immortal Guardians series and The Aldebarian Alliance series.
Stacy Jones, author of the Chosen series.
Charlene Hartnady, author of The Bride Hunt series and many more.
Chandelle LaVaun, author of the Academy Magic series and many more.
L Eveland, author of the Monsters in my Bed series.
-
To date I have fifteen completed manuscripts with more to come!
-
Not yet, but I hope to in the future.
-
On average, it takes about three to six months to complete a manuscript, plus editing and publishing, but it can take longer if I’m trying to work out a tricky plot.
-
Yes and no. While I mostly write during regular schedule hours, sometimes an idea will hit me in the middle of the night, and I have to pull my laptop out and write it down!
-
Hey, we all have our kinks. ; )
-
No, I am an independent author.
-
Maybe. Send my publisher an email at Jillian@riarinabooks.com, and I’ll see if it’s right for me.
